Love Yourself: Conscious Spending Tips

Learn how investing in yourself enriches life

When I concluded the fifth and final session with a client who had received a three-month Light Program, he thanked me with all his heart. ‘All consultations were wonderfully clarifying and so needed,’ Gabriël said. ‘And on top of that, our contact was very pleasant.’ He then shared how grateful he felt for having chosen to invest in himself rather than following distractions to avoid looking at what he needed to see within.

A Spiritual Quest in India

‘When I was young,’ Gabriël told me, ‘I went to India for a spiritual quest. I fell into a deep depression and at the same time felt tempted to visit the Golden Triangle of Thailand, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. It would have been relatively easy to travel there as I was already in Asia. I am so grateful that I decided against it and instead chose to turn inwards and enter therapy.’

‘Conscious Spending,’ he called his choice. ‘My life is now rich because I am aware of many things that my brother isn’t, as he chooses to stay away from his inner world. He prefers to spend his money on distractions in the outer world.’

We can only spend our money once

Indeed, we can only spend our money once. Every day we make countless decisions about how to use it: going shopping, eating out, going to the cinema, booking a holiday, buying clothes, and so on. Our basic needs are a roof over our heads, food in our bellies, and enjoyable leisure time with friends and family. These require our major expenses.

Four Pillars for our ‘in-between-needs’

For the ‘in-between-needs’ we can choose how we spend our budget. We keep our body healthy with yoga or a sport, we pursue a hobby to uplift ourselves, and we buy self-help books to gain a better understanding of how we tick. But this covers only three of the four pillars that make us who we are: our physique, our emotions, and our mind. What about the fourth pillar, our spirituality?

‘We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a human experience’

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
(1881-1955, French philosopher, palaeontologist and priest)

Many people forget to invest in their fourth pillar and, as a result, live a life that feels unfulfilling and meaningless, or at least not as fulfilling and meaningful as it could be. They lack alignment with their own innate essence and with Source.

Developing and maintaining this connection to our spiritual essence and the Eternal Love that constantly surrounds us is often overlooked. Yes, it can indeed be great fun to hop from one magical experience to another by attending all kinds of spiritual workshops. But to achieve Oneness with the inner Self (our innate essence, the Love that we are), we need to spend our money more consciously. Otherwise, it is easy to lose ourselves in simply being human, having spiritual experiences.

Conscious Spending. Indeed.

How to invest wisely in your Spiritual Pillar

‘We are spiritual beings having a human experience’ – but how do we develop and maintain alignment with our spiritual essence if hopping from one workshop to another for magical experiences is not the way?

1) Spiritual Hygiene
First of all, we need to acknowledge that each of us has an energy field and chakras that require care. Just as we look after our teeth. In everyday life, our teeth can become dirty or damaged, so we need to brush them and have them repaired. The same applies to our energy field and chakras. How often do you clear them, request repair, and strengthen them?

2) Heart versus Mind
Secondly, we need to become aware that our ego rules our mind, while our heart is the doorway to living the most fulfilling life we came here on Earth to experience. We need to unlearn the habit of giving priority to our thoughts and fears, and instead embrace the needs, wishes, and longings that dwell in our heart. Learning to listen to our heart is one thing, but taking action on its whispers takes courage. How often do you follow the voice of your heart?

3) Loyal to your Divine Essence
Once we become fully aware that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, and that each of us is here with an individual purpose, we understand that this truth calls for loyalty to our Divine Essence. Our longing to manifest and express our unique life mission then becomes so vivid within us that we yearn for proper guidance. We need someone who understands our inner quest, our call for courage to live our uniqueness, and our sense of loneliness in the outward-directed world that surrounds us.

This is when you enter the phase of ‘Conscious Spending.’

The client I mentioned above comes to me for four or five in-depth sessions each year or every other year. Gabriël knocks on my door whenever he needs guidance and profound work on his system to take the next exciting step in his life. Dissolving dark energies, releasing self-sabotage mechanisms or ancestral patterns, undoing a curse or spell, dissolving deeply ingrained fears – you name it, and we have done it. In between our (bi-)yearly sessions, he regularly signs up for my remote healings and Light Transmissions to clear, balance, and strengthen his aura and chakra system.

Gabriël spends consciously in order to walk his human path as a spiritual being. He lives the most fulfilling life imaginable and has the most compatible partner.

Through my online sessions, I support many people like Gabriël – of all genders. In these consultations, I facilitate The Emerald Heart Light and/or The Mary Magdalene Light, depending on the individual’s needs. These Lights, together with the person’s Higher Self, help me identify their Prime Limiting Factor. We then work with Essence Vibrations and a Light Program to unlock or release their limitation to a fulfilling and meaningful life.
