Life has its highs and lows. Periods of health and luck alternate with periods of difficulties and pain.

Our heart has the capacity to experience a vast scale of emotions and feelings – with love, joy and happiness at one end of the scale, and grief, rage and despair as their opposites at the other end.

Life is a constant invitation to navigate emotions and in general we do very well.

But at times, the intensity of emotions can hit us so deeply, that finding balance again seems impossible. This is especially the case when we are faced with betrayal. Someone who we thought we could rely on, damaged our trust so badly that we end up shattered, with a broken heart.

Betrayal has many faces, and it can hit us in all kinds of ways, e.g.:

• Parental abuse: physically, emotionally or mentally from the one(s) who should care for us

• Self-betrayal: neglecting our own needs in favour of others

• A partner that breaks the agreement of having a relationship built on monogamy, is probably the best-known form of betrayal

• Being made redundant after having served a company with the energy of our best years can bring up a similar heart break

• And what to think of someone who we’ve stood by and supported for years, when they turn their back when we are in need?

Betrayal is one of the deepest emotional woundings we can experience. It causes us to enter a period filled with grief, despair and anger, alternating with utter devastation.

Our heart pain can be so deep that we cannot experience the beauty of a fluttering butterfly, the unconditional love of a pet, or the enchanting skies of a sunset.

When betrayal hits us deeply and seems unsurmountable, it is very well possible that ancient heart pains around the same theme – accumulated over life-times – are regularly triggered.

Any unresolved pains of betrayal from past lives may then cause us to remain deeply troubled, out of balance and over protective of our heart, which in turn limits our experience of the joys of life.

Life is a constant invitation to navigate emotions and at times it invites us to cleanse the depths of our heart.

• When our betrayal pain seems insurmountable, there may be past life layers in the heart to be cleared

• If we attract situations of betrayal again and again, this shows us that unresolved past life betrayal pain remains active within us and the repetitions are a message that this issue needs to be resolved

• Finding ourselves in the role of the betrayer again and again, shows us similarly that this issue needs resolving

In the first part, the Twin Lights search the depths of your heart for any pains of betrayal. This takes five weeks.
